Summary:

Responsible for the design, development and delivery of customer service and technical training programs for the fiber optic and fixed wireless field operations teams. The training material will be focused on installation, repair, and physical network maintenance. The purpose of the position is to increase proficiency, productivity and development of the technical operations team and to ensure that other department employees stay current in regards to the field operations department’s policies, procedures, and other broadband industry information.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

  • Develop and implement technical training programs to all new and existing broadband technicians to include required technical skills, technical knowledge, safety requirements and customer service soft skills
  • Developing, and delivering ongoing training programs with technical management and supervisory team to increase proficiency, productivity and confidence throughout technical department with minimal negative impacts on system operations
  • Develop and implement safety training for the operations department
  • Promotes excellence by providing superior training services to every participant, placing primary importance on delivering superior customer service
  • Maintains confidentiality and models company values
  • Developing goals and objectives for training function that incorporates/adapts to changes in the broadband communication industry
  • Establishes and maintains knowledge of policies and procedures concerning safety, technical operations, and customer service objectives
  • Establishes training-needs analysis and develops/delivers appropriate programs
  • Performs other duties as required
  • Works with other departments to develop and meet their training needs
  • Developing, maintaining, and training on all regional and corporate operational policies and procedures
  • On the Job field training
  • Performs other duties as required
  • Employee will be required to travel to all markets to conduct on-site training. 60%-70% travel will be required

Education/Experience:

Associate’s degree in related field or equivalent experience, i.e., NCTI Training Certifications; 5 or more years work experience with fiber optic service delivery. The ideal candidate will also have experience/training with active ethernet, GPON, and XGS PON fiber optic network architecture.

Computer Skills:

MSOffice software, build and manage training database and other software as required.

  • Occasionally required to climb
  • Occasionally required to lift and carry objects up to 30 lbs and ladders up to 75 lbs
  • Required to have a valid driver’s license and maintain a driving record that meets the standards of the insurance carrier

The employee works in an indoor office environment and will work out of doors, in all types of weather and on uneven terrain. Overtime may be required.
