Description

Position can be located in West Point, GA or Bristol, VA.  Successful candidate must be willing to travel.  

Summary:

Responsible for design, implementation, management, maintenance, and support of technology solutions for all physical and virtual network, server, storage and application infrastructure environments.

  Duties & Responsibilities:

Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to those listed below:

  • Support, incident resolution and problem resolution for network, server and storage hardware and infrastructure application issues
  • Change and configuration management for all network, server and storage technologies
  • Network, server and storage infrastructure administration including: security patches, software updates and installations, firmware and hardware updates and installations
  • Network, server and storage infrastructure monitoring and alerting to ensure uptime and responsive issue resolution
  • Ensure all critical systems and data are protected through backups
  • Provide support for internally developed and/or purchased third party applications and appliances as necessary
  • Design and implement new network, server, storage and infrastructure application solutions to solve business problems and improve overall operations
  • Create and maintain written documentation to improve the supportability of the entire network, server, storage and application infrastructure
  • Thorough understanding of industry technology standards and trends for application and information security; familiarity with security vulnerability scanning tools and techniques
  • Strong knowledge of software security for web and mobile applications.
  • Strong understanding of information security and risk analysis processes (e.g. threat modeling)
  • Ability to establish relationships with business, IT leaders and technology subject matter experts with effective verbal and written communication skills appropriate for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changes within the enterprise and technological landscape
  • Access Management design and definition, especially with cloud products (IaaS, SaaS, PaaS, cloud storage, cloud database)
  • Experience in medium complex MSO organizations, data, video and cable industry experience a plus
  • Strong technical background and understanding of security solutions and networking
  • Support IT Help Desk functions as needed
  • Support Network Engineering as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

-Education:

  • A four-year degree in IT, computer science, or a business-related field or 4-5 years relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of both experience and education
  • At least one JNCIP, MCSE, VCP, RHCE, HDSCP or equivalent industry certification preferred

-Experience/Skills Needed:

  • 4-5 years of experience working with LAN/WAN and Internet connectivity, as well as supporting network equipment including routers, switches and firewalls, preferably with Juniper equipment
  • 4-5 years of experience working with both physical and virtual Windows and/or Linux Servers, preferably using VMware
  • 4-5 years of experience working with Microsoft Exchange, SharePoint or equivalent collaboration solutions
  • 4-5 years of experience working with SANs and data protection solutions
  • Must possess expert hardware and software troubleshooting skills, proven through previous work experience
  • 4-5 years of experience working with users providing solutions to desktop needs, software needs, help desk type functions
  • Experience documenting processes and procedures required
  • Experience scripting for server task automation, VB Script, Windows Scripting, etc.
  • Brings passion and enthusiasm to what we do and how we do it everyday

-Computer Skills:

  • Proficient in the entire Microsoft Office Suite, Office365
  • Expert working knowledge of the following, but not limited to:
    • Routers, Firewalls, Switches, Load Balancers, WAPs, etc. (Juniper, Cisco, etc.)
    • Server Hardware (Dell, Sun, etc.)
    • Operating Systems (Windows, Linux, Solaris, etc.)
    • VMware
    • SANs (Hitachi, Nibble, EMC, etc.)
    • Tools (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Xymon, Landesk, Actifio, Veeam, etc.) 
    • Command Languages (Junos, IOS, etc.)

  • Must be able to be on call as this position will be on a rotating, on call schedule, as well as, be escalated support and be the person who has primary responsibility for all server-related equipment
  • Some travel may be required
