Summary:
This position is responsible for the strategy, organizational design, and tactical execution of the company’s Commercial Sales team. This position manages all aspects of Commercial Sales and support and will oversee and manage the sales team to meet or exceed sales revenue and to contribute to the overall profitability of Point Broadband.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Develop and implement competitive sales strategies and define target accounts to meet sales objectives including customer penetration and revenue goals.
- Supervise and manage activities of Sales Managers and support staff, including training, time off tracking, and payroll procedures.
- Plan and monitor staff progress; review and evaluate performance results.
- Partner closely with Marketing to align on go-to-market campaigns, promotions, and lead generation strategies that drive qualified opportunities and accelerate sales performance.
- Establish clear feedback loops with Marketing to share insights on lead quality, campaign effectiveness, and customer needs - helping optimize messaging. targeting, and conversation outcomes.
- Initiate appropriate disciplinary proceedings.
- Coordinate and enforce system policies and procedures.
- Maintain appropriate sales response operations by establishing work schedules, assigning employees, and providing back-up.
- Maintain quality customer service by designing and enforcing standards, training representatives, monitoring performance, surveying sales approaches, and evaluating outcomes.
- Maintain workforce processes by training sales representatives, preserving reference manuals and dialog guides, furnishing current industry information, and answering questions. Determine market potential for company’s services and prepare sales and expense forecasts for the various regions in our footprint.
- Create and implement regional incentive programs as necessary to meet company objectives.
- Create a consistent and valued customer experience leveraging scalable and repeatable methodologies through proven best practices.
- Participate in development of and adherence to annual budget objectives.
- Apprise management through the formulation of reports and presentations for the purpose of interpreting industry information and submitting appropriate recommendations.
- Augment professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices, and participating in professional societies.
- Contribute towards the team effort by accomplishing related results that are in accordance with corporate practices and policies.
- Responsible for Budgeting, Sales and Capital Forecasting, and Resource Planning.
- Establish relationships with leadership across sales, customer success, support, product, and marketing leadership to ensure cross-functional alignment at scale.
- Maintain current, in-depth knowledge of the marketplace, including competition, and ensure positive and professional relationships with customers, business partners, and co-workers.
- Responsible for supervision of outside contractors as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:
- Related Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university or five to seven years of related sales management experience in the communications industry, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 10+ years’ experience managing enterprise, SMB, and wholesale sales teams in the telecommunications industry.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with Sales, C-level executives, decision-makers, and cross-functional teams.
Computer Skills:
- Requires thorough knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word. Requires basic working knowledge of MS Project, MS Access, and MS PowerPoint.
