Construction Lineman
Duffield, VA

The Construction Lineman is responsible for aerial CATV construction including plant, maintenance, plant extensions, emergency cable construction, coaxial splicing, strand mapping, as-builts.

Key Functions of this role will include:

• Performs plant construction and maintenance
• Completes asbuilts and strand mapping
• Splices coax and fiber
• Works on call during scheduled time periods, and responds to calls as needed
• Operates and maintains assigned vehicle in accordance with Company guidelines
• Coordinates with other departments as necessary to ensure customer satisfaction and problem resolution
• Maintains sense of urgency and consistently meets deadlines.
• Accurately completes required paperwork and/or documentation

Attributes we seek in a candidate include:

• High School diploma or equivalent is required
• Valid commercial driver’s license and satisfactory driving record is required
• Prior experience in telephone, aerial utility, or CATV construction is preferred
• Knowledge of broadband cable networks and hybrid fiber coax systems is preferred
• Working knowledge and understanding of construction design as it applies to CATV and telephony
• Basic mathematical skills
• Must be able to operate bucket truck and heavy equipment
• Must be able to interpret system prints
• Must be able to move/transport loads of 70 lbs. or more
• Must be able to work long periods of time in standing position
• Required vision ability: close vision, peripheral vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus
