Senior Director, Fiber Engineering Design

Summary:

Point Broadband Fiber Holding LLC is seeking a Sr. Director for the role of Outside Plant (OSP) Design, Engineering, and Planning. This individual will lead the strategic engineering for OSP build evaluations and have responsibility for ongoing design engineering of expansion projects from initial planning to completion.  The role will bring GIS and FTTH technical expertise with proven leadership experience ensuring operational success.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to those listed below:

• Leads and partners with internal teams and external resources responsible for the design and build of Point Broadband's fiber network.
• Uses advanced engineering skills, knowledge, and experience to develop complex designs, address deployment challenges and achieve construction engineering goals.
• Leads and coordinates with vendors, customers and outside organizations.
• Prepares financial estimates and cost evaluation summaries for all fiber builds within the Point Broadband network.
• Prepares written reports and other technical documentation necessary to communicate ideas, concepts, and details necessary to accomplish specific goals.
• Contributes to the definition of operational and support requirements and maintains 'as-built' and assignment records, properly records and maintains records in Vetro GIS application.
• Responsible for ensuring all design data integrity and timely completion of projects in coordination with Construction teams.
• Exercises independent judgment, discretion and execution in matters of significance.
• Trains and mentors other engineering staff to build knowledge and awareness amongst internal / external teams.
• Must be able to travel.
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual will demonstrate in-depth knowledge related to GIS mapping software and FTTH Architecture standards and specifications. Candidate must have thorough knowledge and demonstrated proficiency in the creation of design guidelines and project reporting. Strong proficiency in MS Office. Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to create positive influence and work effectively in a team environment is required. Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education/Experience:

• Experience leading teams in design engineering and deployment
• Extensive broadband service provider engineering and architecture experience
• Experience evaluating and designing fiber builds in a variety of topographies
• Critical thinking skills and ability to solve complex problems
• Excellent oral/written communication and interpersonal skills and a customer-centric attitude
• Bachelors of Science or Applied Science applicable degree or commensurate experience
