Data Developter/Architect

This position is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the organization’s data infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on handling large-scale datasets and Master Data Management (MDM). This role supports data-driven decision-making by ensuring data quality, reliability, and accessibility across the enterprise. Responsibilities include building database solutions, implementing data models, migrating data from legacy systems, optimizing database environments, and partnering with stakeholders to identify future data needs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and storage of large datasets.
- Collaborate with analysts and stakeholders to gather data requirements and ensure data availability.
- Optimize and fine-tune data pipelines for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
- Implement data security and compliance best practices.
- Develop and maintain documentation for data processes and pipelines.
- Implement and manage MDM processes and master data repositories.
- Define and enforce MDM standards to ensure data quality and consistency across the organization.
- Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines and MDM workflows to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Develop and implement an enterprise data strategy aligned with business processes, including data model design, database development standards, and data warehouse/analytics systems.
- Migrate data from legacy systems to new platforms.
- Design conceptual and logical data models and flowcharts.
- Improve data quality, efficiency, and data management practices.
- Build strong relationships across business and IT teams; communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications:

- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and technologies.
- Proficiency with SQL and NoSQL databases.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Business, or related field; or equivalent relevant work experience.
- 4–5 years of experience designing, implementing, and maintaining large-scale data warehouses/data lakes.
- Data Architect certifications preferred.
- Experience documenting technical processes and procedures.
- Experience in medium-complexity MSO organizations or the cable, video, or telecommunications industry is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Data Engineer, preferably on large-scale data projects.
- Strong understanding of data governance and data quality principles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Certifications such as Azure Data Engineer, Snowflake, or CDMP are a plus.
- Experience with MDM tools and practices.
- Experience with data orchestration/scheduling tools.
- Knowledge of data modeling and ETL processes.
- Familiarity with big data technologies.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- In-depth understanding of database structure principles.
- Experience with data integration tools such as Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Snowflake, and Python.
- Knowledge of data mining and segmentation techniques.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Qlik, Looker).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Office 365.
