Summary:

The Data Architect/Engineer position will be responsible for handling large volumes of data and expertise in Master Data Management (MDM). As a Data Architect/Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining our data infrastructure to support our data-driven decision-making processes. You will work with a team of dedicated professionals and ensure data quality, reliability, and manage data repositories. This position is responsible for developing database solutions, installing, and configuring information systems, migrating data from legacy systems, and designing conceptual and logical data models. The position will also optimize database systems and collaborate with the Point team to identify future needs and requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to those listed below:

  • Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines for the ingestion, transformation, and storage of large datasets
  • Collaborate with analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and ensure data availability
  • Optimize and fine-tune data pipelines for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency
  • Implement data security and compliance best practices
  • Develop and maintain documentation for data engineering processes and pipelines
  • Implement and maintain Master Data Management (MDM) processes, including the management of master data repositories
  • Ensure data quality and consistency across the organization by defining and enforcing MDM standards
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines and MDM processes to ensure data accuracy and reliability
  • Developing and implementing an overall organizational data strategy that is in line with business processes. The strategy includes data model designs, database development standards, implementation and management of data warehouses and data analytics systems
  • Migrate data from legacy systems to new solutions
  • Design conceptual and logical data models and flowcharts
  • Improving data quality and efficiency
  • Ability to establish relationships with business, IT leaders and technology subject matter experts with effective verbal and written communication skills appropriate for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Proven experience as a Data Engineer, preferably with experience working on large-scale data projects
  • Understanding of data governance and data quality principles
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and technologies
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Certifications (e.g., Azure Data Engineer, Snowflake, CDMP) a plus
  • Experience with Master Data Management (MDM) tools and practices
  • Experience with data orchestration and scheduling tools<
  • Knowledge of data modeling and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes
  • Familiarity with big data technologies
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git,).
  • In-depth understanding of database structure principles
  • Understand data integration solutions such as Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Snowflake, and Python
  • Experience gathering and analyzing system requirements
  • Knowledge of data mining and segmentation techniques
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI, Qlik, and Looker)
  • Proven analytical skills
  • Proficient in the entire Microsoft Office Suite, Office365

Education:

  • A four-year degree in IT, computer science, or a business-related field
  • 4-5 years relevant experience designing, implementing, and maintaining a large-scale data warehouse/lake
  • Data Architect certifications are preferred

  • Experience documenting processes and procedures required
  • Communicates and works well with others
  • Demonstrates the ability to effectively communicate technical solution details through words and visuals
  • Acts as a mentor to other team members and discusses opportunities and challenges in a positive manner Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Is passionate about learning new technology and consistently finding ways to do things better
  • Experience in medium complex MSO organizations, data, video and cable industry experience a plus
