Intern, Strategy and Analytics (Graduate Level Internship / MBA)

Summary:

The Strategy & Analytics Intern will inform key strategic initiatives across Point Broadband’s rapidly growing fiber broadband business. This role is ideal for a student enrolled in a graduate or MBA program with strong analytical skills, an interest in business strategy, and an ability to translate structured and unstructured data into actionable insights and recommendations for leadership.

The intern will identify and evaluate growth opportunities whether through network expansion, M&A, or other methods. The work will involve collaborating with teams across multiple organizational pillars to ensure successful project delivery, culminating in a presentation to senior leadership.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential duties and responsibilities are listed below but are not limited to:

  • Develop market analyses to assess expansion, acquisition, and competitive positioning opportunities
  • Build financial and operational models to support investment decisions
  • Analyze industry trends using third-party datasets (e.g., broadband availability, penetration, demographics)
  • Synthesize data-driven insights into executive-level presentations
  • Contribute to strategy documents, board materials, and grant applications
  • Assist in due diligence for potential acquisitions

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of professional experience
  • Currently enrolled in an MBA or graduate program with a focus in Strategy, Finance, Business Analytics, or related fields
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills with a track record of analytical problem-solving
  • Experience with SQL and Python for data querying and analysis
  • Familiarity with external data tools and market research platforms (e.g., BroadbandNow, CostQuest, Ookla, Census data)
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to synthesize complex data into actionable recommendations
  • Nice to have: Familiarity with GIS tools (e.g., QGIS, ArcGIS) or FCC broadband datasets (e.g., BDC, Form 477)

Additional Computer Skills:

Proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet software, Internet software and e-mail.
