Duties and Responsibilities:

The facilities maintenance technician must be willing and able to carry out each of the following duties, tasks, and responsibilities in an effective, efficient, and safe manner.

  • Carries out scheduled maintenance examinations and fixes, cleans and align diverse systems to guarantee appropriate system operations.
  • Arranges repairs on electronic and wiring components affiliated with building management operations.
  • Changes faulty motors, compressors, coil units, expansion valves and other constituent parts.
  • Performs troubleshooting and repairs on the facilities HVAC units.
  • Performs troubleshooting and repairs on the facilities backup power generators.
  • Conducts quality control inspections on all contractor repairs and maintenance.
  • Maintains, repairs, and installs lighting fixtures and components at all facilities locations.
  • Conducts a visible inspection on all electronics in each facility and reports any issues to the Engineering Department.
  • Maintains the grounds outside of each facility.
  • Administers insect and pest control products at all facilities locations.
  • Manages reports and records as well as explain the actions and procedures carried out with the suggested solutions.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

The requirements highlighted here are some of the knowledge, skills and qualifications required to be a successful maintenance technician for a facility.

  • A degree in general education or at least a high school diploma with 4-5 years progressive experience performing tasks with intricate HVAC systems and backup power generators.
  • Mastery of interpretation of documents involving maintenance instructions, sketches, plans blueprints, procedure manual and safety rules.
  • Primary point of contact for all facility related issues.
  • Proficient with excel and maintaining repair/inspection documentation.
  • Outstanding application of common-sense intelligence to perform instructions.
  • Outstanding communication skills.
  • Caterpillar and Generac knowledge and training is a plus.

  • Regularly required to talk and hear.
  • Frequently required to sit, stand, bend at the knees and waist, and walk.
  • Required to use hands to type, handle objects and paperwork.

  • Ability to carry, climb and operate ladder.
  • Required to use close vision and be able to focus.
  • Must be able to lift/carry 50 lbs. at any given time.
  • Must be able to travel for business purposes on an occasional basis.
